　　General information

　　Dr. Byoung Chul Cho, Group Leader of Yonsei Cancer Center, is seeking to hire a well trained and independent postdoctoral fellow. Applicants interested in a drug discovery project to understand and develop agents to enhance immune checkpoint inhibitors for cancer are encouraged to apply.

　　The research is aimed at determining the regulation of tumor microenvironment and its impact on anti-tumor immunity as well as examining the emerging immune checkpoints in various solid tumors such as: lung, Esophageal and head and neck cancer.

　　The postdoctoral scholar will study, but not limit to (1) anti-metastatic immunity by promoting anti-tumor T cell response; (2) the signaling transduction in T cells that may boost anti-tumor T cell response; (3) handling immune deficient and humanized murine model for immuno-oncology of solid tumor; and 4) bioinformatics related to big data analysis including TCGA, single cell RNAseq, multi omics integration during cancer progression and metastasis. If the candidate has reasonable proposal to do research in a different but relevant field, we encourage the candidate to do so for his/her own career development.

　　Qualifications

　　The applicant should have Ph.D. in Cancer Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular/Cell Biology or other related field of biomedical sciences; should be self-motivated, able to design and conduct experiments, prepare and present their work at meetings, and write scientific manuscripts; should have skill in setting up and using laboratory equipment, and ability to assist with development of new and improved methodology. The applicant is expected to train students/technologists when necessary. Prior experience with in vivo studies or experience in mouse models related to solid cancer is a plus.

　　The ideal candidate will be a laboratory-based investigator whose research program and interests innovatively impact the field of cancer immunotherapy. Specific areas of interest include innate and adaptive immunity to cancer, and cancer immunotherapy (checkpoint blockade, cancer specific T cells, tumor antigen presentings and recognitions). Faculty will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and may align with one or more institutional centers and pharmaceutical companies.

　　Salary

　　The salary will be considered at the entry level commensurate with research experience and accomplishments, equivalent to the assistant professor or associate professor level.

　　Yonsei Cancer Center is located in Avison BioMedical Research Center of Yonsei Hospital, Seoul, South Korea. This is an academic based translational research institute with a total of 35 researchers consisting of 3 Clinicians and 12 Ph.D investigators.
